MÜMÛ Hojicha starts as steamed green tea — sencha leaves from Zhejiang, processed using the ancient Chinese zhēng qīng method that preserves the leaf’s natural character before roasting begins. Then comes the heat: a deep, dark roast that transforms the leaf entirely, burning away the caffeine and astringency and leaving behind something altogether warmer.
Because of the roasting process, hojicha contains significantly less caffeine than green tea or matcha — making it the cup you can drink at any hour. Afternoon. After dinner. Before sleep.
